As Sayaka persists in her degradation, the other Magical Girls begin to plan. However, they are not the only ones who are devising; Kyubey is slowly corrupting Madoka who remains the last hope.
Sayaka is no longer a human nor a Puella Magi. The corruption of her powers is too great and she refuses to cleanse her stone. I fear that she will become a witch or something far worse. Kyubey and Akemi both understand the repercussions but this is exactly what Kyubey is shooting for. In order for Akemi to stop this she has come from a different time, a time where Kyubey has revealed his true self: Incubator. This anime started off slowly but the past few episodes have been accelerating the plot at a rapid pace. In addition to story, we are slowly grasping the powers of each character.
Kyubey, perhaps I should refer to him as Incubator now, is immortal in the sense that he possess several bodies and yes, he does die in this episode (huzzah!). Of course, being the disgusting bastard that he is, he’s a self-cannibal. He also states that this is the second time Akemi has killed him, interesting.
Akemi uses explosives as well as firearms. The disk on her arm basically produces these weapons constantly. Also, since she’s able to travel through time, she’s able to control the space around her.
So, what I can surmise so far is that Akemi is a time traveler of some description. She has definitely seen Madoka before or at least what Madoka can do. Kyubey is still very much a jerk, whether in the future or not. And Sayaka is corrupted as all hell due to her idiocy. This is just great isn’t it? Its unfortunate that Madoka is so easily impressionable and persuaded. She nearly caused the doom of the living world by agreeing to become a magical girl. Luckily Akemi shot Kyubey to pieces; I’ve been waiting for that since the second episode.
Everything is so muddled at this point, I’m awestruck as to how crazy this series has become. The moment they showed Mami being devoured, the entire atmosphere changed. Do not be fooled by the cute caricatures; this is an anime charred black. Perhaps not along the lines of Berserk or GANTZ it’s fundamentally dark at a psychological level. The use of colour and symbolism is very well done.
