Hourou Musuko 05: Danger! Danger! Summer ends and trouble begins.

Seeing as we of the TOB are so far behind on posts, I thought I would accelerate my process by skipping the majority of the blabbering at the end. A picture tells a thousand words does it not? Thirty pictures with subtitles probably tell a lot more.

Summary:

Chiba Saori! She’s so spiteful but her admirer is moreso. That churchgoing boy with the glasses is quite vicious to be honest. Pretending to be a ditzy fellow, he calls out Nitori with all his friends around. And he thinks he’s cuter!

In addition to this, the selection for the play is done by random ballot. Chiba is quite angry at this point and again she is spurned when she picks Romeo however Nitori does not pick Juliet.

In the end, the only real development in this episode is that Nitori begins to recognize Anna. She is a model and thus is beautiful but she has a particular allure. Anna carries the exact same cellphone strap as Nitori and is very available while Takatsuki will never be able to reciprocate Nitori’s feelings.

Onward to picture spam! For no one reads past the summary anyways.

For context, she wants to be Romeo in order to stop Takatsuki.

Most likely because he did it on purpose.

Summer is over so fireworks are a necessity.

Metaphorically of course.

Finally a resolve to accomplish something instead of whining. Perhaps she'll become more well-liked.

Anna gave Nitori the key/phone strap as a gift/apology… it was in ep 4…

This is my probably my favourite show this season…
you should do more pic spams…I like them.. but you need more Chi-chan…

    =)

Yup, Anna gave Nitori the strap as a gift but Nitori thought that it was a gag gift since the design was so… strange. It’s kind of symbolic that Anna uses the same phone strap.

Unfortunately there wasn’t much Chi-chan in this episode. ;o My two favorite characters are probably Chi and Anna.

oh yeah, I forgot that you’ve read the manga..

do you think its been a faithful adaptation so far?

        =)

They skipped the elementary arc which was, in my opinion, the best and the most important part. A lot of the rivalries and the characters (like the transsexual couple [who saved Takatsuki and Nitori from shame]) aren’t developed. Immediately skipping to middle school meant that 10 or so characters are thrown at the viewer.

It’s not the same as the manga but it’s still nice and much faster paced.
